Why is my skin so oily all of a sudden?

For some reason, in the past few weeks, My skin has been more spotty and oily than it ever has been before. I just looked in the mirror and my skin is actually shiny, which it never has been.

I haven't changed my diet, and I'm 17 years old so im not sure it has anything to do with my hormones?

Is there any way I can get rid of the oily skin and spots? Thanks
Why is my skin so oily all of a sudden?
Well, first of all, the fact that you're 17 years old doesn't bode well for your "it's not my hormones" conclusion. Likely, it is your hormones. Here are some solutions: for the road, get the oil blotting strips; keep them in your bag at all times, and every few hours take a trip to the bathroom to blot up some of that oil. For a longer-term solution, think about using Proactive - - great with controlling oil and acne, and it's pretty cheap. Follow their regimen closely.

Maybe you're about to have your "monthly visitor" and your skin is just reacting to it worse than usual.
Reply:Keep your skin very clean and try using oil absorbing sheets, like the ones by clean and clear. If you can afford it, Clinique has very good skin products that should help.
Reply:Probably hormones.

Getting rid of spots: put toothpaste on them for about thirty minutes.
Reply:It's defo your hormones.
Reply:The Origins counter at Macy's is a great place to go to. It has natural things in their products. They have this one thing called "Checks and Balances" it uses volcanic ash and you only use it once a week. Which saves money and isn't that much of a hassle. The first time I used it my face wasn't oily anymore and my face tightened up and my pores got tighter. It works good luck!.
Reply:It's because it's gotten cold - fat is building up under your skin, and your body is beginning to ooze blubber. Nothing to do about it other than move to the southern hemisphere for the next few months.
Reply:the best thing that i would suggest is changing ur cleansing routine. instead of using just soap and water use a cleansing product every day that also helps gets rid of sweat and sebum as that help gain an oily skin.
Reply:Same thing happened with my skin when I was 17 I am now 20 and its just starting to calm down, although its still there. I never use to get spots its quite annoying.
Reply:I feel your pain my 12 year old daughter has horrible oily skin. I found a website that has natural remedies that you can make and use at home. I will send you some, they work really well.

Peace

Reply:Arbonne International makes several products you may be interested in. Arbonne is a health and wellness company that makes their products from botanical ingredients.

First, they make a personalizer - it comes in a compact and has a sea kelp base. Sea Kelp is a natural oil absorber. You can dab it on many times during the day over or under make-up for a clean refreshed look.

Also, ocnsider what you are doing for skin care routines. You should have a cleanser, toner, and moisturizer. This should be part of your routine two times daily. Arbonne makes a skin care line perfect for your age group and it adjusts to your skin - it's called the Intelligence Skin Care Line.

If a regular skin care routine doesn't work and you have tried something for at least 30-45 days, consider an acne line to help reduce oiliness. Arbonne also carries and Acne line called Clear Advantage.

Anything you put on your skin is absorbed into your bloodstream within a minutes - so make wise choices!
