Baby has rough skin, runny nose, funny sound when breathing?

My 18 month old is having strange symptoms. I freaked out today when he suddenly was making a "wheezing" sound when breathing. He also has a cough, runny nose, and non-red, rough patches on his skin. I immediately rushed him to the emergency room, but the doctor seemed to think nothing of it. He said he was not "wheezing" when he listened to his lungs, but the wheezing sound was coming from his throat. I wonder if he has a food allergy or something? I did not show the doctor his rough skin, I thought it may have been dry skin. But, I have been looking up stuff on the internet and saw symptoms of a food allergy causing all these symptoms. Also, he had diarhia a couple of days ago.

i have a 6 month old son who just went through all of the symptoms you just mention, we started introducing him to new food. and he started having red spot's on his cheek and forehead. the doc said it was baby excema, also heard that some kids can have allergic reaction to some of the new foods where their body's aint used to them. the runny nose. cough and diarhia, and wheezing, he had them not to long after, he said it was just a cold, and the weird brathing was where the drainage was running down his throat making them sounds cause he don't know how to clear his throat or blow his nose yet. but nothing to worry about too much. But i would keep close eye one him, could have bad reaction to the food and closing his airway's. not all doctors are rite all the time. neither am i. I would seek more professional help since it is your kid.

If the doctor didn't hear wheezing than his lungs are clear and it is in his throat or sinus's. If the doctor wasn't concerned I wouldn't either unless it gets worse or doesn't get better in the next couple of days.
Reply:Get a second opinion, that does sound like a food allergy take your baby to a baby doctor NOW because sometimes two doctors are better than one., be sure to show the rash this time.
