my skin went from being really dry to being quite oily.what can i use to combat this? i heard lavender works but the only form i've seen is lavender oil and i don't want to put more oil on my skin.what can i use?
Oily skin arghhhh!!!?
The others who pointed out that you don't want to overdry your skin are right - it leads to MORE oil production and potential irritation. Here are the products that work for me:
DHC Pure Soap, morning and night
Neutrogena Deep Clean toner (with salicylic acid and witch hazel), morning
Estee Lauder Clear Difference oil-absorbing moisturizer, daytime
Alba Botanicals Sea Plus Renewal Cream, nighttime around eyes and on neck/decolletage
Buf-Puf Gentle exfoliator pad, maybe 3 times a week
Oily skin arghhhh!!!?
your skin will change from time to time as it is a reflection of your hormones. use a cleanser designed for oily skin during this time and try not to touch your face with your hands during the day.
Reply:You can use the lavender powder base, instead of the oil product. The powder basically sucks up all the oil on your face.
I would also recommend using Neutroginas translucent powder that is great for oily skin. You sweep it over your make-up and keeps the appearance of oily skin away.
Reply:first of all as a woman U KNOW there are many products to help with this sort of thing. take action nd during the day try powder... NOT FOUNTATION THAT DOESNT HELP
Reply:Exfoliate your skin with a good exfoliating wash designed for oily/combination skin. Then use a face cleansing wash or face mask that is specifically for oily skin. Don't forget to moisturise, but use a light moisturiser that is for oily/combination skin, and don't use too much.
Reply:I just began to use lavender oil on my oily skin and it has worked wonderfully. I too was very hesitant about putting more oil on my already oily skin but I'm so happy i tried it. Make sure you face is clean and then put a light coat of 100% pure lavender oil on your face to help your skin. Lavender oil also helps by killing the bacteria that causes pimples.
Reply:Don't touch your face and don't wash your face constantly. Wash your face twice a day, because if you wash your face too much your face will produce MORE oil and it'll get worse. I also have oily skin, I use Neutrogena Oil-Free Rapid Clear facial wash. It works. (You are talking about oily facial skin, right? If not, then sorry)
Reply:Avoid using too many drying products, stripping the oil out of your skin will only cause it to produce more oil in an attempt to balance itself. Try a gentle scrub and be sure to moisturise, using a good moisturiser will help balance your skin.
Reply:Almay has some good cleansers and moisturizers and you should also use blotting papers and pore strips from Biore. Also, try to give yourself one facial per week.
Reply:all i can say is find some face wash, toner, and moisturizer (all in one package) called Klear Action. The first day i used it my skin was soft, not oily and crystal clear! IT WAS AMAZING!!
Reply:use clean and clear blotting sheets
