Do you think that pale skin will ever come back in style?

It once was stylish because it showed that you were wealthy enough to not have to work outside. Today, it seems like bronze skin is the only thing in.

Of course, I am quite a fair skinned girl, so I would love for there to be an alternative look than the bronze goddess crap. What do you think?

When you see paler skin, do you think that it looks unhealthy? I find it strange that people think that tanned skin gives you a "healthy glow" when really, it is just going to make you look older quicker.

Maybe I am just jealous of all you tanned beauties out there, but is there any hope for my fair complexion?

I'm insanely pale (I freckle rather than tan so I just avoid the sun in general.) I love being as pale as I am, that way when everybody gets back from their summer vacations all burnt and brown, I stand out from the crowd. Stops some guys in their tracks. Plus you get the benefit of knowing that one day all those other girls are going to be wrinkly and battling cancer while the pale chicks are going to age beautifully and look like we're ten years younger than the other women.

I'm sure there is. My skin tone is kind of in-between pale and tan, but I always find myself wishing it was beautifully bronzed. However, all the people who go to tanning beds 3 or 4 times a week are going to have leathery rough skin when there older, while people like you will have nice, normal skin. You also won't have moles covering your body and will never have to worry about skin cancer. I don't think pale skin looks unhealthy at all. I especially think that if its natural [a person can't get tan] like people with light blonde, red, black hair it looks really nice. The only time I don't like it is when it looks sickly, like with bones showing through.
Reply:I'm really fair too, but I make myself look healthy by using an illuminating make-up base, it's really good :) It gives my face a healthy glow!
Reply:aww i hope so, I'm pretty tan but i only get that way from laying out ha ha and my mom is always bugging me about it saying it is unhealthy.. which then gets me all scared so i hope paler skin does come back in ha ha... and no i don't think it looks unhealthy though i just think it looks like you aren't in the sun a lot okay hope this helped%26lt;33
Reply:it depends on what you look like...

I mean, there are so many different skin types. I have really fair skin too...I wouldn't want to have bronze skin, I think it would look creepy on me. I think whatever skin color people have looks natural on them. Fake tanning and tanning lotion is really overrated, I think it looks bad personally.
Reply:Yes - I do. However, I myself don't think I look very good in Jan.Feb (I am a midwesterner.)

I agree with you though - my good friend has several family member prone to skin cancer - she lost her mom and a brother to the disease. She just shared that two more brothers have been diagnosed. We have to get out of the sun for our health - not to mention what it does to the condition of our skin. We can fake a healthy glow with products- but in the end - I wonder about how healthy those products are too! Good question!
Reply:to me its not whether its "in" or not.....i have

pale skin and to my boyfriend its attractive....it all about who is attracted to what, there are guys out there who would see a tan gir and think it dosen't look so hot.
Reply:Many people have pale complexions and protect them. Many people feel that natural peaches and cream Caucasian skin is beautiful. Just get as much sun as you like or that your skin will tolerate without burning. And most of all be happy in the skin YOUR in.
Reply:I hope pale will come back in because I'm pale too. My family has a history of skin cancer (my grandfather died of it aged 67) so I don't sunbathe and I use the strongest sunblock I can find. In the summer I use a little Jergens Natural Glow just so I don't blind people with my white legs when I wear shorts. In the winter I'm just pale.

Personally, I'm not a big fan of the super tanned look. I always think of the older woman from There's Something About Mary who was so tan she was leathery and scary. My parents live in Florida and refer to people like that as Leatherbacks. Not exactly a healthy look. I had a friend who was 5 years younger than me but since she always used tanning beds she looked at least 5 years older than me. I think pale skin looks healthier than tan any day.
Reply:Being tan is pretty, but I would rather be pale than go to a tanning salon and turn to a carrot.
Reply:If you want to get a tan but your skin can't take the sun or tanning beds, they have a lot of other options. I use a product called "Jergens Natural Glow" they have it for fair skin tones. It is a lotion that will gradually tan you. On me, it takes about 3 days of using it to notice a difference then I usually continue to use it for about a week, then when I get the tan I want, I stop using it for a few weeks. It will not leave you orange or streaky. You can get a bottle of it for around $4 at any national retailer such as Walmart.

Or

You can go to your local tanning salon and get a spray on tan. I have seen people with a tan from these and they look really good.

I personally like the look of pale skin on certain people. Some people just don't look right with a tan. I have a friend who has such pale skin, she has to try and stay out of the sun because she will burn easy and the pale skin looks good on her.
Reply:Being a woman of Paki[stani] descent, I have naturally tanned skin but that doesn't necessarily mean that I have unhealthy skin or that I think of myself as a "bronze goddess". lol

No pale/fair skin absolutely does not mean that you're unhealthy.

In my opinion, the "bronzed" look seems attractive because it makes *some* women (and men!) look exotic and, thus, mysterious.

There is nothing wrong with being fair skinned, you just have to know how work it! Be confident; you're beautiful no matter what your skin color is. : )
Reply:I am very very pale, my foundation is the second lightest in the covergirl collection.

But i would like to think of my skin tone as 'porcelain' rather than pale.

sometimes i dont like it, sometimes i just want to be tan, but thinking about it now...i do not WANT to look like every other girl, i want guys to look at me and think "wow, shes really pretty, and it looks natural and unique and different"

Also i have dark brown hair and hazel eyes, the only problemo i have is i really do wish i had blue eyes, i always though pale girls looked the prettiest with dark hair and light eyes.

oh well. :P
Reply:no!!!! pale skin is so ugly ( no offence)
