Is having dark skin a curse?

Dark skin is a curse from God, the result of our sin, or the sin of our ancestors. If sufficiently righteous, a dark-skinned person will become light-skinned.





Anyone want to guess which denomination has this lovely doctrine?
Is having dark skin a curse?
I have no idea which denomination has a doctrine like that. I am dark-skinned so I'd love to know.

altough I am a Christian, I don't believe black skin is a curse...how old is that idea...I think it was invented when they first met african people...so it's a bit out-dated

Reply:Having dark skin is not a curse. The mark placed upon Cain in the Book of Genesis was not specifically given. But to say that it was a certain color of skin would be contradictory to what the Bible says about God not having any respect toward person. Meaning, we are all the same in God's eyes.

Reply:I don't think its a curse, in fact I would say it is a blessing. Yes, fair skin is nice but dark skin has more benefits.





First of all, dark skin is due to high intensity of melanine pigment in the skin. So for people with darker skin, it will take 1 hour under the sun before the uv ray can harm the body cells. Whereas those with fair skin merely takes about 15 minutes before the uv ray can harm them. So this would increase the probability of getting skin cancer.


So what is the problem with having dark skin??

Reply:Having dark skin in some countries is a blessing.....I know alot of women prefer people with dark skin.....the only people who have problems with dark skin are the Australian Aborigines who suffer from social dysfunction as in they are not readily accepted by our Australian and for that matter the world society as we know it....





Having dark skin means nothing..its the same the world over, yellow skin for the Chinese/Asian, red skin for the American Indians, White for the Caucausians of the world it doesn't matter what colour your skin is God still loves you....





Like someone else said....if you really are feeling down just ask the Holy Spirit to comfort you during this time of unheavel and suffering due to your skin condition.....I think black is beautiful myself....some of the nicest looking men have medium to dark skin....





Just think about it...for a little while....say your prayer and ask Jesus Christ to come into your life if you like, and see how you feel after that......

Reply:being a dark skinned women I don't like your question or the source where you got this and may I have it cause I would really like to know the *** who wrote this. the reason why we have different skin cause if every one was the same we wouldn't be in God's image. No one truly knows what color Jesus was or the color of God for that matter. God is all color, he is Almighty and if he wanted us to be green,pink, yellow, orange then ppl would still have color issues so whatever color, the tone or the mix it's from God and not a curse ppl's dumb *** mines are a curse for ppl's teaching and that's the problem negative teachings.
Reply:I taught seminary for LDS Church leaders have clarified this scripure it is not the color of the skin that is the curse. They were given skins of blackness to be set apart from the Nephites.

When you succeed while you have dark skin, you are absolutely sure that you are worth everything you have accomplished. Because nothing is free for you.





God gives you dark skin because He thinks that you can handle everything that comes with it.
