Blacks: light skin vs. Dark skin?

Do light skin blacks feel that the darker ones discriminate against you.

actually i think its the other way around. im right in the middle of both so im happy. but i know many that are discriminated against because of darker skin.

Reply:They discriminate against each other. Slavery divided their race and still in 2007, not much has changed.
Reply:I have been discriminated against because I am light skin, dark skin have been discriminated against because they are dark skin, I think the whole thing is stupid. We already have discrimination against the black community by other races, why have it within our own race?

Reply:IDK. People come in different shades and tones. But I don't find it as a big deal.
Reply:I am right in the middle, I embrace both. I did see discrimination in grade school, from light skinned girls against the darker ones, but that was just in grade school. I haven't seen or heard of it in a while. I am sure it still exist in some way. Just like the blond vs brunette thing!

Reply:i would never treat a light skinned person differently from a darked skinned person. some people are just insecure and play on other peoples' differences. i myself have not been subjected to any discrimination from another black person.
Reply:i am light skinned.but dark skinned african american women don't have anything to discriminate for. they also know that they are just as beautiful.God made us %26amp; sees us as all beautiful women!
Reply:Thank God my higshschool has no problems like this skin color crap. In my school if you're pretty your pretty thats it! I'm born in the 90's so my age group thinks very different, in my school there are all types of interaccial and they go out with light and dark. Besides what happaned to brown people(I'm brown caramel, a little darker though)?
Reply:Why does everyone want to know so much about us? But to give you a reasonable and truthful answer, no, I havent felt any discrimination. I do not classify myself as ether light skin, dark skin. I'm a simple color of brown, and I'm human.%26lt;3Monet.
Reply:I think both discriminate against eachother. I am black but I'm more red and have indian features ( alot of my ancesters were indians)so it really doesn't affect me .
Reply:Yeah I'm a light skinned black person and some darker skinned black people will be mean to me sometimes. But it all goes back to slavery days because lighter skin black people would turn on them or whatever. So its like vice vera-y.
