i have dark golden brown hair dark brown eyes with olive skin..i tan really well but when i wear yellowbased foundation or very warm (mustardy shades) of make up then i look either sallow or dirty but when i wear pink based colors i look like an old lady...yet i look good in most brown bases and coppery colors and i can carry off bright tropical colors really well...about last year i dyed my hair blue black and i ended up looking pale and unhelthy rather than olive and when i did a true red i looked weird am i concidered warm or cool?
ps: i'm not tan right now because i don't go tanning nor do i live in a warm all year round climate but i'm very sure it's olive because my skin is either a smoky tan/grey color or a greenish color depending on the light...
Is olive skin warm or cool?
Olive is cool. I have olive skin tones and when my hair is dark, beige foundation is good for me.
When I highlight a few blonde pieces I can wear colours that are not cool and I just mix a few drops of foundation of a different colour on the pads of my fingers. If you use sponge or any applicator, you waste a lot of make-up. I learned that in a seminar once.
Some stores will do a free make-over if you buy some products from them. I took two pictures to a dept. store and it showed them exactly how I wanted to look. Worked out well. One place did a terrible job, another store did fantastic!
Good Luck
