I have really dry skin on my face?

and i cleanse and moisturise every day with products made specifically for dry skin yet when i put my liquid foundation on, my skin still ends up looking dry and flaky :( can anyone suggest an alternative morning routine for my face or a type of foundation that could help combat my dry skin?
I have really dry skin on my face?
When I have dry skin, I like wet my face a little, get a wet and soft towel and gently scrub off the skin. Then I rinse off my face. After that I put as much moisturizer as needed to keep it smooth and not flaky, wait for a few minutes and then put on everything else as usual. I find doing this about once a week keeps the dry skin away. Good luck :]
I have really dry skin on my face?
use bio oil on ur face this really helps ur complexion and it keeps ur skin so soft i used to have that problem, i used lotsa creams but same thing would happen round my nose and forehead it would dry up. hope this helps.
Reply:Use concealer and then a tinted moisturizer instead of foundation.
Reply:ohh that's all really clean:) when you moisturise sort of massage your face for a bit, and then leave it for 5 minutes to really soak in. Instead of using a foundation use a tinted moisturiser, YOU REBEL by Benefit is really great! I'm a bit annoyed because my boyfriend nabbed it off me today..PFFF.. It costs £22.50 and is really good for dry skin. If you want more cover up, use a liquid concealer on top (about 5 minutes after applying tinted moisturiser) but not too much, Benefit Boi-ing concealer is really good and doesn't clump up or dry your skin, however I'm sure any liquid or cream concealer will work just as well. Happy soft skin:) xx-- oooh one more thing, if this makes your face all shiny because of all the moisturiser dab on top DR FEEL GOOD by benefit, it feels soooooo good and stops your skin from looking shiny and doesnt dry it out!
Reply:i have psoriasis on my face (slightly) and i swear by johnsons moisturising cream....i have tried all the creams and lotions for dry skin, but this just irritates it even more....i also use johnsons products in the bath and shower...try using johnsons baby oil in a nice hot bath.....
Reply:Put some petroleum jelly (vaseline) or mix your foudation with some petroleum jelly .
Reply:First of all don't use products with Sodium Laural Sulfate or mineral oil. It's very drying even if it says it's for dry skin. And do NOT put petrolium jelly on your skin (it is mineral oil which is very very bad for the skin.)

Try Aqua Dessa chocolate black current face scrub. It will help take care of the flakes and moisturize your skin. I'm not sure if it actually cleans your skin so you might want to try one of their face washes too. Find a moisturizer that is called a hydrater. Drink more water and take a vitamin E supplement.

For foundation try Laura Mercier Moisturizing foundation.
Reply:chuck all the products in the bin, go to a chemist and get your self a tub of( E45)CREAM,use three or four times daily, you will be right as rain in a week !!WICKED!!
Reply:A. Moisturizer:

Shea Butter has many documented healing properties, with helping to strengthen Nails %26amp; Cuticles to helping heal scars, burns and blemishes, to minimizing wrinkles, just to name a few. Shea Butter melts upon skin contact to revitalize, soften and maintain moisture without leaving any greasy residue

Shea Butter is solid and comes from the natural fat obtained from the karite tree grown in West and Central Africa. Shea butter is an emollient. It is extremely therapeutic, helping to heal cracked, aged and damaged skin. Its chemical constituents help to heal bruising and soreness. Shea butter penetrates the skin and leaves it feeling soft and smooth. It has vitamin A, E and is highly compatible with skin.

Use Shea Butter cream rather than lotion. It is more concentrated. A good quality Shea Butter cream is a bit expensive. The one I use costs about $36.00 for 6 oz.(this includes shipping and handling), but it goes a long way. It keeps my face moisturized all day long. I apply it in the morning before I put on my makeup and at night after I cleanse my face.

B. Morning routine:

Application Steps

1.Exfoliant – use 2-3 times per week

2.Facial Cleanser.

3.Rub entire face with ice cube or splash cold water onto face. This step helps to minimize pores.

4.Toner. Witch Hazel works great.

5.Moisturizer. Shea Butter Crème (Let crème completely absorb before going on to next step.)

6.Concealer – Apply with a small brush. Swirl onto blemishes, scars, dark circles, etc. – You do not need to blend the enhancer in. The next step will blend it in.

7.Foundation – See Below.

8.Blush – Use sparingly, a little goes a long way. Apply to the apples of your cheeks and sweep up along cheekbones.

9.Powder – Brush over entire face.

10.Eye Shadow – May be used wet or dry. May also use for eye liner.

11.Eye Liner – May be used wet or dry. May use eye shadow for eye liner.

12.Mascara

13.Lips

Application Basics

Mineral makeup should be used very sparingly.

1. Start with clean dry skin (allow Moisturizer to completely absorb).

2. With lid on jar - gently tap a small amount of mineral makeup into the lid.

3. Using our Kabuki Brush, swirl the brush around the lid until the minerals are completely infused into the bristles. Tap brush on the side of the lid to remove any excess.

4. Starting along your jaw line (outside of face) lightly apply the minerals, working inward. Reapply makeup until you achieve the look and amount of coverage desired. Do not over apply! You will achieve a more natural, flawless finish if you build up several light layers of mineral foundation, rice setting powder, and multi-tasking enhancers.

Beauty Tricks: To set makeup, dust powder over your foundation. This will give you a beautiful matte finish while leaving your skin silky.

I use Affordable Mineral Makeup. I also have dry skin. I have found that this routine and makeup works great.
Reply:I use( ponds ) dry skin face lottion it come in a blue round cup thing i use it because i have the same problem as you i have dry skin on my face and ever since i started to use (ponds) my face dose not have dry skin it works good and it not that expensive and i use it 2 times a day in the morning and at night.
Reply:make sure as well as moisurising you also wash your face twice a day

Reply:Hi

Every morning you should be cleansing toning and moisturising aswell as this your should be exfolliating 2-3 times a week to get rid of the dry dead cells and using a face mask twice a week. I would recomend getting a richer moisturiser and also maybe using a serum under your moisturiser this helps lock in moisture and repair the dry skin. I use Darphins Hydrant Serum Its amazing! Also drink loads of water helps too.
Reply:Hello there. If your skin is sensitive, then stick to a basic routine of water, followed by a rich moisturiser, preferably E45.If your skin is just flaky/dry,then before applying make up gently scrub it with a facial cloth(with a dab of cream cleanser) and warm water,or a cream scrub, focusing on the dry bits especially.this will help promote more natural oils in the skin.follow with a moisturiser.Do not use traditional foundation,go for a tinted moisturiser,it will give the same colour as a foundation, but much more moisture. If all else fails,go to your GP/Doctor,they have some fab creams.hope this helps.regards roma
Reply:I found that micro dermabrasion kits help. The best one I've used it Mary Kay. You can go to marykay.com and find your local consultant. She may also recommend other products to help your skin. I use a lot of Mary Kay products and my skin looks so much better than it used to. Now that I use the micro derm, I notice that I don't have the dry flakes and the makeup goes on much nicer.
Reply:I really suggest you have a look a this and read the note posted from a client. http://www.gtawater.com/index.asp?pid=11... I really think it will help you.
Reply:moisturiser from clarins are great also try taking cod liver oil they are great for keeping your skin moisturised.
Reply:Our skin is a semi-permeable membrane, which allows water to go out from the body or to come in the body. While swimming in the salt water, the salt concentration inside your body is lower than that on the outside. This causes our body to eject some water. This increases the moisture in the skin and remains until it is evaporated.

Your skin uses two ingredients for oiling and softening it. They are water and oil that makes your skin more permeable in different ways. The word “moisture” refers to various combinations of these two types of skin components. When you swim vigorously below any water for a long time, it makes your skin dry. Salt water scrubs away the skin oil.
Reply:I also have extremly dry skin-and sensitive too!

I use Lancome cleanser and a toner- although you must be careful that your toner ISN'T stripping the moisture from you face

Some products which say they are suitable for dry skin can be just as harsh as a reg toner!

When applying foundation make sure that you have left enough time for your moisturiser to soak in- and try applying the foundation with a sponge and don't overload it.

Also by using a mild exfoliating facial wash once a week will sluff off any dead skin cells and will make the skin feel softer and smoother

REMEMBER TO MOISTURISE THOROUGHLY AFTERWARDS!!

I use a light reflecting foundation from Rimmel- which is very light yet the coverage is good- the problem with dry skin is that it has a tendecy to look dull- go for a light reflective moisturiser and foundation and you really can't go wrong

I know how you feel!!
Reply:try Dermalogica active moist cream.
Reply:wel you are best off.. gettin dermalogica daily microfoliant.. i have it.. and my face is a lot better now its only about 35 pound for a fair big container.. but its realllly goood i get it all time! and gets rid of any bad bits on your face to:D..
Reply:well there has been a lot of good answers already, but i would suggest a really great foundation that i use, from max factor two in one, where it has a moisturiser in the first bit, you put this on first then foundation its great, ive been using it for a year now and i will never wear anything else, as i suffer from dry skin as well where i was having blotches on my skin, this ain't happening now.

The price for this is £12.00 a bit steep, but its worth it, good luck!!
