I have very bad dry skin, and i hate putting lotion over my whole body every morning...and even then my skin will get dry later and hurt when i stretch...is there any lotions that will help or and body washes i can use in the shower...no rude comments thanks..
Help...dry skin problem..?
Olay has a body wash for dry skin with oatmeal. I heard it was really good!
here's the website for it: http://www.olay.com/boutique/olayshower/...
Help...dry skin problem..?

Reply:I have the exact problem. I found this one lotion at my local target store its called Cure'l (accent over the 'e' ) Ultra Healing. Its really great stuff.

Reply:Put some Vaseline
at night then in the morning
put baby lotion on.
Reply:Drink more water.
Reply:Stay away from really hot showers. I know it's Winter but that's what causes dry skin; especially if you're already prone to it. If over-the-counter lotions don't work, go see a Dermatologist. There is a prescription lotion that works great....good luck!
Reply:Try baby oil on your wet skin after your shower, then dry off with your towel. This way the oil will be dried into your skin making you softer and it has a nice smell.
Reply:Curel Ultra Healing lotion is good. I started using it when I got my first tattoo. It's really good with dry cracked skin. You can get it at Walgreens, CVS, basically any drug store. Hope it helps.
Reply:Aveeno lotions are very good for really dry skin. You can get
free Aveeno bodywash, moisturizer, and cleanser samples.
Reply:You should right after you get out the shower, don't dry yourself off and put on lotion, then every time you wash your hands dry them off and put lotion, you should put a moisturizer everyday and carry an antibacterial lotion with you everyday. It may be annoying but it's all worth the process! ;-)
Reply:Have you had this dry skin a long time? Have you seen a doctor? My son had symptoms that sound very much like the one's you described. Turned out he has Eczema. His doctor prescribed this stuff called Acid Mantle cream, you can buy it at any pharmacy. It has really helped with his skin. I'd check it out.. it's a little more expensive than regular lotion, but it helps to restore the skins natural pH (slightly acidic) and allows it to heal and retain moisture better. Hope this helps! Good Luck!
Reply:If you drink coffee, the wet coffee grounds, by rubbing them into your skin can help also after you wash your skin in the shower, run a cold washcloth over the problem areas. As far as your face goes, using OLAY mosturizers are the best brand, just don't over do the lotion on your face.
Reply:Do not wash yourself with soap. That will dry your skin right out.Products that contain alcohol generally irritate the skin. I use Aqueous cream BP for my face. Its cheap and alcohol free!

Could my skin just be really really sensitive?
it seems like everything I use breaks out my skin! is this because its verry sensitive... or something else? But what? i know that I have extremely sensitive skin but i dont know what to do? And I have always had thiss like crop of whiteheads underneath my bottom lip there not visible unless I pull my lip up but there still anoying they have been there for many year. What are they and how to get rid of them!
Could my skin just be really really sensitive?
Quit playing with your face, wash often, have clean sheets - especially the pillow case.
See a dermatologist
Could my skin just be really really sensitive?
You should go see a doctor. I used something that broke out my skin really bad, so I went to the doctors and they told me which products to use for my skin. Maybe a deurmatologist can help?
Reply:i used to have the SAME EXACT PROBLEMS AS YOU. what i used/use to control my acne is pretty simple. In the beginning, when it was really bad, i washed my face with Clearasil acne clearing scrub. After most of my bad pimples went away, i started washing it with oil of olay foaming face wash. its really gentle and wont upset your skin. for spot treatment creams, try clean and clear persa gel 10. its the best one i've ever tried, and believe me, i've tried a lot of creams. good luck :)
Reply:I'd really consider seeing a doctor so
you can benefit from the right treatment
and get rid of it once and for all. There
are so many different products that
would clear it up without further frustration
and searching for the right cure.
Reply:ask a dermatologist coz they can give you the facts about you skin.. n treat whatever is needed..
Reply:you no my skin has been very sensitive all my life i have been using alphahydroxy foaming face wash for years and no soap and i tell you i have not had one pimple in years also it would not hurt to go see a dermatologist they can help out really good i also have rosesatia that's red spots on your cheeks so i use metrojel on that area works great good luck.
Reply:Make sure you're using oil-free products, and try products that say they're made for sensitive skin. There's a L'Oreal three-step acne fighting system that works pretty good, but the lotion it comes with can be very drying (especially for sensitive skin), so only use that lotion at night. But use the facewash and toner twice a day, and in the morning follow with an oil-free moisturizer that also fights pimples, such as Clean %26amp; Clear dual action moisturizer. You won't see results for about a week or two, but if after two weeks you still don't see your skin clearing, go see a dermatologist. He/she may prescribe you with Accutane, which is an oral medication for serious cases of acne that you take for about six months which I believe slows down the oil production of your skin. It works miracles, but can have bad side effects such as major drying out of the skin. It has also been linked to depression though, so make sure you talk to your doctor about that. Good luck! :-)

I was told water helps the skin to stretch helping with stretchmarks how long before the results take place?
Im not sure how to word my question but my Dr. said drinking water helps the skin to stretch better during pregnancy helping reduce stretch marks but my question is how long do i need to be drinking water before my skin gets its maximum ability to stretch? for ex) should i have started drinking water right when i found out i was pregnant to prepare my skin or does the skin get moisturized by water as soon as its in your body? if you dont understand my question please be specific i will edit it because im having a hard time trying to explain what im thinking lol

You're doctor probably meant to increase your daily intake of water (or other non-caffeinated beverages) OVERALL. There is no magic amount of water, if that's what you're looking for. Also, too much water can be just as bad as not enough. You should be drinking 6-8 8 oz. glasses per day. Eight glasses is 48 ounces, or about three .5 liter bottles of spring water.
Also, go to your local drugstore and look for Palmer's Coco Butter cream or lotion. Using that throughout your pregnancy can help lessen the appearance of stretch marks.

I gained 101lbs when I was pregnant (I was huge) and don't have a single stretch mark. Your doc is right, and you should drink 8 glasses of water a day, starting today, not just because it will help with your skin's elasticity while pregnant, but also because it is the minimum for any human being at any point in their life. Also, what I did was to take daily baths with 1 cup of olive oil in it. It will keep it moisturized.

Horrible dry skin... Please help!?
I have dry skin around my mouth, it is so rank! I've tried everything! EA 8 hour cream, blistex, about 3 sorts of moisturizer.
I always have chapped lips and dry skin on my face. I hate it! Can anyone help??
Horrible dry skin... Please help!?
if creams and moisturizers don't work for you, i think it is time for you to see a skin doctor.
Horrible dry skin... Please help!?
omg i have that too! for you i would say to moisturize and exfoliate. try kirkland makeup remover in the white bottle at costco thats really good
Reply:try to use coconut oil, drink a lot of lemon and pineapple juice,
I think you have digestive problem and a lot of stomach gas, if so try to solve this problem first
Reply:I get the same problem from my acne medication. But moisturizer alone doesn't work. You also need to scrub your face about 1-3 times a day depending on how bad it is. I use St. Ives Apricot Scrub cause it's cheap and it works.
Reply:Hey try using a toner mask everyday around your dry patches, you can see the details in the source. It works wonder!

Could my GF get skin cancer by doing this?
She is 16, and just a normal white skin teen...no fair skinned or dark skinned....but she gets REALLY dark in the summer, I mean many many shades darker, its like a super tan....she puts sun block on all the time to stop the UV rays....she is a life gaurd at a pool....is this bad for her?
Could my GF get skin cancer by doing this?
Yes, what she's doing is pretty risky to say the least.

Reply:Anyone could get skin cancer if they don'y put on sunblock but if she is she will be fine. Just make sure she always puts it on and since shes in the sun all day she must re-apply probably every 2-4 hrs. She may be getting very tan because she doesn't re-apply and if she can she should try and wear a hat.
Reply:well, too much sun aint good but if she protects herself with sun block i think she is doing her best. perhaps she is genetically able to tan better than the rest of us. ask a doctor, maybe a higher spf or something. or buy her a sun umbrella and she can be in the shade thoughout the day.
Reply:yeah, its rreally bad for her skin. Make sure she uses at least 15 or 30 spf that blocks UVA and UBV rays. reapply every hour or 2, and after getting a tan put on regular lotion, to replinish the moisture lost when tanning.
Reply:Yes.. she should get an umbrella to protect her from the sun while working.
Not only could she get cancer, but she could look like this when she gets to be 40:
http://a1.vox.com/6a00c225289590549d00cc...
Reply:Yes it's bad for her. She should lay a towel across her thighs and shoulders at ten minute intervals.
Reply:any sun exposure is bad. Studies show that 80 percent of cancer causing rays are exposed to us before we hit the age of 18. Sunblock or not. Spf 30 means she has 30 minutes before she is exposed to cancer causing rays. So if she wants to get paid for getting cancer and looking like a handbag before the age of thirty, I'd tell how dangerous it is. Sun exposure is the largest of cause of premature aging.
Reply:it is not good... but not that bad, because if her skin can get darker, it means her skin has natural protection, besides, she uses sun block... so dont worry too much about that...
Reply:dont worry, shes life guard, that means shes trained. she knows what shes doing.

Noticed my skin has turned pale these past few mounths?
i am a 15 year old male and i just noticed while looking in the mirror my skin has turned very pale, the only example of pale is micheal jackson pale. and i am starting to worry what is wrong with my skin. i was born naturally brown tanned, not fully brown. the most part of my body where it is turning pale is my face. if it turns anymore i would look like micheal jackson and im really scared. any suggestions on how to stop this? please come up with sensible soloutions or tell me what problem i have. sensible plz
Noticed my skin has turned pale these past few mounths?
Well NOBODY here would know what you have. If you are worried, take yourself to the dermatologist and have her check it out. However, I bet it's absolutely nothing to be concerned about-skin does change over the years.
Noticed my skin has turned pale these past few mounths?
Go see a dermatologist... or perhaps it is the fact that iti s winterand your skin has paled due to lack of sunlight on your pigment.
Reply:Get in the sun, son!
Reply:Have you been outside lately? Not making assumptions, but that can do it. I used to be really tan but now I spend alot of time inside. Im really pale now.
Reply:if you are that scared then talk to your doctor but i am thinking that youa are not eating the right foods, check your food diet that may help, but if you are extremly scared i strogly suggest to go talk to your doctor
Reply:Not only that your spelling has gone to the dumps .
Reply:check with your doctor. make sure youre eating lots of iron rich foods, it could be anemia. or maybe you just havent been getting enough sun, it was winter.
Reply:start taking a multi-vitamin
you could be low on iron
Reply:You know what the sensible answer is; go to a dermatologist. If you have an HMO, go to your regular doctor first. In fact, he might be able to help you without having to go to a dermatologist. Good luck!
Reply:The funny thing is that I'm listening to Michael Jackson on the radio. However, your skin probably went pale because of having little sun exposer. I would start washing your face with St. Ive's invigorating scrub. This will get all the dead skin off your face. Dead skin is usually pale/white. Then put on sunscreen and hit the park, beach or just take a walk outside. This will slowly tan your skin, allowing it to change back to it's natural color. Good Luck.
Reply:You may have some sort of skin disease. You should go see a doctor as soon as possible. Good luck.
Reply:you're gonna die. have fun.
Reply:winter just passed, everyone loses a tan in winter lol. Get some sun thats the best thing for you.
Reply:First, the time of year...winter, less vitamin D getting through to your skin, les stimulation of your melanin (the stuff that creates color in your skin cells). The hint is that it's your face.
Bet you didn't get outside much in the colder weather.
Then go to your doctor because you could have anemia and you're just about the right age for the possibility of mono.
Reply:Yes go to the doctor you may have the disease vitiligo like Michael has.

Then go to your doctor because you could have anemia and you're just about the right age for the possibility of mono.

Help with extra dry skin...hormone related maybe?
I've been blessed with a great complexion, what they call here in the south a "peaches and cream" complexion. I get an occasional pimple and that's it. My skin has never been oily or dry, just normal. All I've ever had to use is a light moisturizer. All of a sudden my skin is SO dry. My cheeks and chin, upper arms, back and legs are extremely dry. I've tried moisturizer for extra dry skin, tried putting it on as soon as I get out of the shower to seal the moisture in. It's been pretty dry here lately, but we have a humidifier to help with that. I drink plenty of water. I am 42 years old and technically in perimenopause. Could this be a hormonal issues. Does anyone have any ideas, tips, suggestions etc...?
Help with extra dry skin...hormone related maybe?
It sounds like the change is doing this to your skin.
Look for a lotion , cream or salt scrub (to exfoliate the dry dead skin) with almond or jojoba oil. Those oils are absorbed better and easier by your skin. If you can't find it in the store try Ebay.

i think you should see a dermatologist...this could be something that requires medication rather than moisturizing...i had a similar problem and they gave me pills and it went away
Reply:Have you tried Cetaphil, Great stuff, doctor recommended
Reply:well try this: put vaseline on the parts that are dry. leave it on for a few minutes and let it dry. then get in the shower and wash it off.
Reply:No. it is not rub bear urine on it. it will go away.
Reply:It might just have to do with getting older.
I don't know anyone whose skin feels as soft and smooth as it did when we were younger...
Also, I don't know how far south you are, but if you're anywhere that's getting somewhat cold temperatures right now, that can dry your skin out in no time.
But it wouldn't hurt (and probably wouldn't cost much) to talk to your doctor about it.
Then you can tell for sure whether or not extra-moisturizing lotion will do the trick, or if you do need some sort of medication.
Reply:Try gently exfoliating before youget in the shower or bath with a dry brush.
Use products that have oats and honey. Or calendula oils.
These help in moisterising the skin and help with dry chapped skin.
They sooth the area. Celendula oil is great for eczema and rough hands, oats relieves itchy skin and sooths irratations.

Pale VERSES Tan- What SKIN Color Really Is In?
Hmmm so what do you think? Which is more attractive? Does tanned skin look fake? Does pale skin look sickly?
Which makes a woman more beautiful?
Take for example 2 woman-
1) blonde hair, really tanned from all those hours on the sunbed
2) dark hair, and naturally contrasting pale skin and a few freckles.
Your Choice........
Pale VERSES Tan- What SKIN Color Really Is In?
i like red hair and pale skin
Pale VERSES Tan- What SKIN Color Really Is In?
I take pale.
No tan = less chance of skin cancer.
Reply:Golden Brown skin and brown hair like me!!!! That's the best.I say tan.
Reply:A moderate tan looks good. It makes you look healthier and younger.
Reply:Well I have dark hair and average color skin.
It can be very dark if I stay in the sun, I got the olive skin going, on, but i don't get too pale like someone would if they were redhead... I do like the porcelain skin with dark hair, I find that to be really beautiful

Do i have combination skin?help with acne plz?
i have oily skin on the surface of my face and dry skin on the inside of my face. or vice versa, but it is a strange combination. i heard that from a dermatologist...
anyway, pimples are torturing me..i've tried many things, i make face masks, homemade!
but i still break out with BIG, FAT, JUICY, PuSSFILLED PIMPLES!! and a bunch of little blackheads and little skin-colored bumps randomly all over my face. i dont know what to do..losing hope, i heard that accutane works, but im on a different medication (which on its prescription says: CAUSES acne) but i have to continue using my medication. so accutane will be a NONo..anyway, i've tried all sort of regimens..maybe it is genetic but it is really ruining my self-esteem...i have scars and the only thing i can do is cover everything with make-up...pimples are a huge problem, but im not planning on taking any surgeries or stuff like that..
this is important, still in high school...bad acne! got any advice/? anything quick?
Do i have combination skin?help with acne plz?
I would recommend microdermabrasion to try and clear up your acne. Also, keep with a consistant facial cleansing routine using a cleanser, toner, and moisturizer. You should clean your face when you get up and before you go to bed. Also try a makeup that does not clog your pores like a natural makeup like bare essentials or something.

What the skin needs is a product that clears pores and kills bacteria, thus preventing hair follicles from clogging and turning into acne. This is what you should be looking for if you want to get rid of those ugly acne.
Before trying any treatment, I suggest you read this informational source that listed the most effective acne treatments available:
http://www.17acnetreatments.com
P.S. I also know someone who used to suffer from severe acne for 14 YEARS and finally got rid of it completely. She's sharing her story at her site:

Maybe you could learn from her inspirational story

How do I prevent “skin hanging” by sudden lose of weight?
Hi guys,
I need your help, and I am going to tell this straight forward.
How do I prevent my skin from being excessively hanging?
Because of my current medical situation, my stomach has been hugely bloated (caused by very poor bowl movement), and my body has highly fat. It has been like this for almost 4 years.
But soon, I will solve this medical situation, and I expect I will loose lots of weight suddenly.
Therefore, I may have my stomach skin hanging, making me always look like a fat person.
How do I prevent the skin hanging?
Thank you for reading this.
How do I prevent “skin hanging” by sudden lose of weight?
Resistance training. Lifting weights, doing sit -ups and crunches. Push-pus and lunges. These exercises will help tone and tighten your muscles and skin.
How do I prevent “skin hanging” by sudden lose of weight?
I'm not sure how you will be loosing this weight
but as you are loosing wieght you need to excersing regurlarly, not as a form of loosing weight but as a form of toning to tone the muscles and skin back into shape.
this can also be done by using electrical pulse bands which help tone muscle.
good luck
Reply:Glad to hear things are getting on the right track for you. From my friends that have the gastric bypass surgery, exercise helps, but sometimes surgery is the only answer. Make sure you stay hydrated with water and moisturizing
Reply:I don't know if there is anyway you can prevent it but I know you can make the skin look taught by diet and exercise. I don't know how big your belly is mine was huge from having a baby but I worked out the whole time, you don't have to do crunches on the floor to tighten your stomach but you do have to work all the muscle groups in the abdomen to get a tight look. My daughter is 5 now and I can't get rid of the extra skin I can only work the muscles out underneath to make it look tight. If someone knows the answer to this besides surgery I want to know:) Good Luck!
Reply:ok, I lost about 20lb postpartum and there was this one particular product that made my hanging skin on face firm- all those jowls went and my face became so trim, I cant even catch to squeeze my cheek-
Its called Porcelain Doll at www.katuri.com
uses orchid extract and is simply terrific.
My neck and decollete also improved tremendously.
Now i havent used it near my belly- but suspect it will work. What I like about them is that they sell samples on most of their items for people to check on and thats something I like after trying so many different products that do not work.

Is it Skin Cancer?!?
My mother has these bumps on her arm. They are white and raised. They've just recently become raised, but she says she's always had them (when they weren't raised). They look kinda like mold or some huge clump of dead skin and they're not all that small. She likes to work out in the garden and never wears sun protection ever because she refuses to. My worst fear is that it's skin cancer and I'm really hoping it's not. I'm only 14 and if my mom dies, I'll kill myself. Can somebody just please tell me what this is?!
Is it Skin Cancer?!?
follow the ABC's asymmetry, borders and color.. mole and beauty marks should be solid and symmetrical.. if not talk to your dermatologist
Is it Skin Cancer?!?
could also be cholesterol plaque. look it up, see if it looks the same...
Reply:all u can do is just ask your mom if she would go see a doctor about these bumps, espically if it bothers her. Best of luck to your family.
Reply:your mother needs to schedule an appointment with her doctor and/or dermatologist. you need to learn to mind the drama.

Underground mole? Skin cancer?
I just recently discovered that there was a mole-looking thing on the back of my hand. It looks like a mole in that it's small and round. However, it has more of a blue-ish green color when looked at closely, and instead of being out on the top layer of the skin, it appears to be several layers under the skin, like a bruised follicle or something.
What is this?

Melanocytic nevi are benign neoplasms or hamartomas composed of melanocytes, the pigment-producing cells that constitutively colonize the epidermis. Melanocytes are derived from the neural crest and migrate during embryogenesis to selected ectodermal sites (primarily the skin and the CNS), but also to the eyes and the ears. Ectopic melanocytes have been identified at autopsy in the gastrointestinal and genitourinary tracts.
Melanocytic nevi are completely benign. However, melanocytic nevi can be found in association with melanoma. The true frequency of transformation of a melanocytic nevus into melanoma is not known, and the estimated prevalence varies widely in published series. In some series, it is quite low, while in others, it is up to 40%. Both acquired and congenital melanocytic nevi hold some risk for the development of melanoma. Congenital nevi hold the greater risk.
Large and giant congenital melanocytic nevi often have both biological and cosmetic implications. Large congenital nevi have a low but real risk for malignant transformation and the development of melanoma. Some authorities believe that melanoma can develop within a giant congenital nevus in up to 5% of cases.
Melanocytic nevi are common lesions that can be found on the integument of almost all individuals. Some patients present with few lesions, while others have hundreds. The number on a given individual increases in rough proportion to the degree of skin pigmentation.
Nevi can be broadly divided into congenital and acquired types. Determining if a lesion is congenital or acquired is generally easily accomplished by direct query of the patient, although some small congenital melanocytic nevi are tardive and may be perceived by the patient as acquired.
When evaluating the nature of a melanocytic lesion, a number of attributes must be assessed. Further commentary describing physical attributes can be found in Physical.
Whether a lesion has become symptomatic (eg, itchy, painful, irritated, or bleeding) is important.
Not all melanocytic nevi that change are malignant, especially if change is noted in a person younger than 40 years. However, change that is perceptible over a short time is an indicator of potential malignancy and designates a lesion deserving of biopsy.
Acquired melanocytic nevi are typically less than a centimeter in diameter and evenly colored.
Melanocytic nevi most commonly are tan to brown, but coloration can be variable, ranging from skin-colored (nonpigmented) to jet black.
Spitz nevi are a distinctive variant of melanocytic nevi. In decades past, these lesions were called juvenile melanomas, but now they are recognized by specific microscopical features and are known to be benign. The outdated designation juvenile melanoma persists in some areas, but the term should be discarded because of the dire prognosis it suggests and its potential for misconstrued implications.
Although Spitz nevi tend to manifest as pink papules on the head of a child, they can be clinically indistinguishable from conventional nevi in some instances; they also can be heavily pigmented.
Many Spitz nevi exhibit considerable associated vascular ectasia and, thus, display a hemangiomalike clinical appearance.
Blue nevi are a form of melanocytic nevi that typically is heavily pigmented. Because of the presence of deep pigmentation within a refracting colloidal medium (namely, the skin), the brownish-black pigment present contributes a bluish cast to such lesions, thereby explaining the name. The optical effect that accounts for clinical blueness is known as the Tyndall phenomenon.
Not all blue nevi are blue, and some are various shades of gray, brown, or black. The clinical appearance varies depending on the degree of clinical pigmentation. Indeed, some blue nevi may be wholly amelanotic. Because of the fact that the term blue nevus is not always reflective of the true clinical appearance of the lesion, some dermatopathologists name blue nevi based on the cellular morphology present (eg, dendritic melanocytic nevi).
Despite their variability in coloration, blue nevi are usually relatively small and reasonably symmetric, as typically is the case in benign lesions. Blue nevi typically occur on the distal extremities or scalp, but they can occur anywhereSimple excisional biopsy is the procedure of choice for removal and diagnosis of a melanocytic nevus. All removed melanocytic nevi should be submitted for microscopic evaluation. Because the interpretation of pigmented lesions may be challenging, many dermatologists prefer to have their specimens read by a qualified dermatopathologist.
Either shave biopsy or punch biopsy is typically used for cosmetic removal of banal melanocytic nevi.
Strive for complete excision of the lesion, if at all possible, when a melanocytic nevus is removed for diagnosis because of its atypical features (with the ultimate goal of excluding the possibility of melanoma from the differential diagnosis).
A complete excisional biopsy permits all available histopathological criteria to be applied to a lesion and thus enables a more precise diagnosis.
When a partial punch or shave biopsy sample is taken from a lesion, the interpreting pathologist cannot apply important criteria, such as symmetry and circumscription (lateral demarcation), to the assessment of the lesion. If a partial biopsy specimen of a larger lesion is obtained because of clinical necessity, the fact that the specimen is partial should be clearly indicated on the requisition form.
Partial biopsy samples can sometimes lead to misdiagnosis because of sampling error.
Partial biopsy samples can inflate the number of procedures required for diagnosis because a partial biopsy sample that does not enable a definitive diagnosis to be made necessarily leads to subsequent reexcision of the lesion in question.

Makeup and Skin question?
The last two years I experienced to no acne..at all...Suddenly this summer they just seem to pop up outta no where. I went to see a dermatologist who prescribed me some pills and Retin-A. Of course..it hasn't cleared up..but I have seen some improvement. Is there anything else I can do? I swear I am the cleanest person that I know...I wash my face morning and night...so I know it's not from being "unclean."
Also...my skin seems to be drying out and flaking...which is not very pretty when you try and put foundation on because it makes it extremely obvious...I use moisturizers and everything. Still seems like within the last few months I'm having more problems than I like to have. It seems that my skin is either really pimply..really red from the pimples..scabbing from the pimples, or flaking. Moreover, I feel as if my face looks washed out...I use a dark foundation..but still feel rather white compared to the rest of my body....does anyone have any suggestions to anything?
Makeup and Skin question?
PROACTIVE!!!!! and steam helps to open your pores so the germs get out!!!! also aroma therapy you are probably washing your face to much it will make your face oily then turn it dry making it flake and cause the pimples to get bigger because you are irratating them
Makeup and Skin question?
Try drinking lots of water to help your skin look great and then try facewashes with salicic acid in it because it does not dry your face up so bad and it helps clear blemishes. But more importantly, drink lots of water!
Reply:Nuetrogena is really good, they have facial peel, with a great moisturizer. You could probably also try pro active, i hear that's really good.
Try not to scrub your face morning and night, do it twice a week, and the other nights just simply clean, not scrub or exfoliate, because too much of that can cause your face to dry out forreal.
Drink water, take fish oil pills, and you should be good, also, stay away from foundation unless you really really need it, I do not use it at all!!! I will use makeup such as blush, and cosmetic stuff, but nothing that will caked on my skin and cause it to eventually dry out.
Reply:Rule number one.. Never use a foundation darker than your skin. If you are trying to look "natural" you need to find a foundation closest color to your skin. Try going to the mall, maybe at dillards or macys and have the makeup lady tell you the color foundation you need. Also as far as your pimples. Ask your doctor for something else. Do not stop washing your face, i would suggest washing your face with something mild. I use just regular dove soap, works great. Try it, and let me know
Reply:pimples usually come skin being unclean, but in your case it doesnt seem to be the cause. they also tend to come from being stressed, i dont know what casued them to begin with, but maybe they seem to be comming back because your stressing about them....and with the flakes, it may be the face cleaner your using. some people suffer from adult onset acne, not sure how old you are though..

Reply:There are so many things that can cause outbreaks, sweety pie. It maybe that you've developed a food allergy or an allergy to an ingredient in the products you've been using. Sometimes this happens, for no particular reason.
Puberty is the second thing that I think of. My son, who is 17 just about, just started getting zits too. His face has always been clear. His case, was a reaction to the new medicine he was taking. I put two and two together and we found what was causing the outbreaks.
You talked about cleaning your face. Do you think you are cleaning your face so much that you are taking all the oils out of it and thats why its so dry? Your face needs some oil to help keep moisture in. If you have dry skin, twice a day using a strong facial cleanser, might be too harsh for your skin type.
If you use too heavy a moisturizer for your skin type, this can cause zits too. Just don't over moisturize (use water based moisturizers only, nothing heavy) OR over clean for right now. Maybe you've been washing your face so much that you've forced your sebasceous glands (oil producing glands) to produce even more oil which is causing more pimples.
When you go to bed, try using a toner with Salicylic acid on your zits. Be careful to use the Retin A sparingly. (a little goes a long way) Toners and retin A can be very drying if you use them too much. If you've got dry skin, skip the toner.
Let your skin breathe as much as possible in between the makeup and the moisturizers.
The best makeup to use is of course minerals. These won't make you break out. However, since they are all in powder form, when you're face is peeling, you can see them more clearly.
Have you tried using a tanning lotion on your face? That might give your face the color you've been wanting without the makeup. (so you won't have to depend on makeup as much.) Of course tanning lotions have chemicals in them (that bring the tannins to the surface to make your skin look tan) but I'd give them at least a try anyway.
Best of luck!
Hope these help some:o)

Severe itching on the skin next to the eye on either side of the nose?
Does anyone know why it is that the skin next to my eyes itches soooo much as soon as I touch it. I will be fine all day but if i touch that part, I automatically get an uncrollable itch on that part of the skin and also were tear come out of in my eye. I've tried eye drops but it won't help. It's the skin next to the eye on either side of the nose that starts to itch as soon as I touch it.
Severe itching on the skin next to the eye on either side of the nose?
Maybe the skin is very dry. Try a moisturiser specially formulated for the sensitive eye area.

What color would our baby's skin be?
I am a fair-medium skinned white woman. If I have a child with a man who has a cocoa brown skin tone (African American), will the baby have a skintone that is exactly in b/w his and mine, or is it possible that he would have my skintone, or my SO's skintone? I know that biracial babies are usually a mix of their parent's tones - i.e, I know a fair-skinned woman married to a dark skinned black man, and their daughter has a medium brown skintone. It is likely that our baby would be on the light brown side, right? I'm just asking because I know children who are obviously biracial are sometimes given a hard time and not treated like "real" blacks.
What color would our baby's skin be?
It is a blessing that you will share a child! I am Native+ Assyrian and my children are Black,Puerto Rican,i am fairer than their dad,their skin color is so beautiful,i dont care what anyone says,all children are beautiful,no matter who they may be from. I used to think what someone would say,or think...be as the wind...........leave it to the breezes.......Blessings be many to you%26gt;
What color would our baby's skin be?
Nope the baby will be a cocoa color every time.
You can say good bye to fair skin tone.
Reply:there is no way to know because u don't know who has the dominant genes at this point unless you have genetic testing...don't listen to anyone on her who tells u otherwise..you have to wait and see but once the baby is born the child will turn the color of their ear as they grow older that will be their true color
Reply:I am sorry lady but are you hoping that your kid will pass for white or something? Your question definitely suggests it. There is NO WAY of knowing the color of your child would be since Black people tend to have so much mixture. Now, just relax and even if your baby is blue black, it is YOU who will teach him/her how confident to be.
Reply:My sister had three bi-racial children. One is very dark skinned, one is a medium tone, and the youngest has green eyes and is almost white.
No telling...
Reply:Lady, there is no way to know that until it happens. You might as well try to predict what color hair your kid is gonna have, how tall they are gonna be or what color eyes they are gonna have.
I had a lady who lived down the street from me years ago. She had 3 little mixed girls. She was white, her husband was black. 2 of the girls looked black, the youngest looked white, yet they all three had the same mom and dad.
Its really a toss up.
If you want a child you should be more concerned about if it will be healthy as to what color its skin is. You really need to sit down and do some consideration here, do you want a child or do you want a item of a certain color?
Reply:does it really matter what shade or color your child will be. you made the descion to be in an interacial relationship so your children will always be and look different not to mention be treat diffferently by both races so what difference will it make. there's so many interacial people in the world now that things aren't nearly as bad as it used to be. i wouldn't worry a/b it too much. teach your child a/b both cultures and how to deal w/ignorance take care.

But i have a question for you. If your child comes out a color that you do not like will you love it less? I get the feeling that is so. You are wanting a token here to show off to friends-not a child.
Please respond, i would love to hear your answer to this.

Reply:You said lighter blacks always get raged on. That's not true. It's the other way around sweetie. Where I come from biracial people are treated like gods and they put the dark skinned people down. To answer you question the baby is going to have a yellowish brown skin tone.
Reply:I think you need to reevaluate some things. You can't determine a child's complexion. They may have the complexion of one of their ancestors, it just happens. The fact that you are concerned about it troubles me. I hope you raise the child to love themselves regardless of their skin tone. For the record black people no matter how light are treated like black people. Light skinned blacks are "real" blacks. You will see especially if you have a son and he may be light as Barack Obama, but he will still be treated as a black man.
Reply:Your baby's skin color will be beautiful. Don't worry about superficial stuff. What you should be questioning is if your baby will be healthy with all 10 fingers and toes.

My girlfriend has these strange lumps under her skin that hurt, but they cause no blemish rash or anything on the surface of the skin. They are about the size of a quarter and there are two on her arms, one on her leg, and one on her neck. Has anyone ever herd of such a lump? or know what can cause them? She went to her doctor and he said she needs to have a biopsy done.

If I have loose skin from being pregnant will I be able to tone it up?
I weighed 105 when I first got pregnant went up to 160 then after the baby I weigh now 120 but the skin on my stomach got loose it looks like a grandma stomach and it looks like i have extra skin...if I work out will I be able to tone it up...I'm not too worried about the stretch marks cuz believe it or not they are not too bad its just the extra skin...what can i do besides a tummy tuck? do you think I could still tone the stomach
If I have loose skin from being pregnant will I be able to tone it up?
Yes, you should be able to tone up but it might take awhile. I've had two babies and my tummy looks better now than it did before. Keep your weight even and do your exercises. Walk a lot when you can (I know it's hard when you have small children). Use moisturizer on it - supple skin will tone better than dry. Good luck!
If I have loose skin from being pregnant will I be able to tone it up?
YOU CAN TONE YOUR STOMACH BUT THE LOOSE SKIN MIGHT BE A PROBLEM MY EX WIFE HAD A TUCK BECAUSE OF ALL THE EXTRA SKIN AND SHE GOT INTO INCREDIBLE SHAPE AFTER THE BABY BUT THE LOOSE SKIN WOULDN'T GO AWAY. SO SHE GOT A TUCK AND NOW IT LOOKS GREAT.

Whiter/Lighter Skin?
Hi,
I would like to have whiter skin, I'm asian and is there something I can make at home to make my skin lighter?
Whiter/Lighter Skin?
try not going in the sun so much.
Whiter/Lighter Skin?
NO bleach, girl! It's highly harmful.
Just stay away from the sun, and hopefully your skin will get lighter as time passes. you can also try rubbing a lemon over dark spots; it makes them fade.
good luck!
Reply:Use whitening lotion or try bleeching...
Reply:no way dont bleach if thats what your thinking cuz its painful and makes you pale as a ghost from what i've seen. Try not to be in the sun a lot and your skin might lighten, i mean your asian anyways you dont need so much light skin ya know.
Reply:Try wearing a thick coating of sunscreen... but for best results, cunsult the expert... Michael Jackson!
Reply:Ive heard that godiva lightening creamz are quite good. But to make things at home to do i would suggest looking through this internet site http://www.geoamaan.com/entry/1/39/ and http://www.fatfreekitchen.com/beauty/com... hope this helps...they seem to be easily made at home.
Reply:first of all... you shouldn't even have to worry about having a certain skin tone. that's beyond ridiculously stupid, i'm sorry. if your culture expects you to be beautiful only with lighter skin, then i suggest looking elsewhere for beauty... or trying to change that ideal.
you can try everything on the market. bleaching products, etc. but they come with a price and i don't think it's a wise idea to risk health issues over a silly 'problem.'
Instead of trying to lighten your skin, why not learn to accept what you have and love it? eventually you will. it'd be really sad if you're on your deathbed and still think you'd have a better life with lighter skin.
oh, by the way, if you haven't noticed already... olive skin-colored models grace many magazines and runways. they're idolized. just goes to show... no matter what your skin color is, if you carry yourself well, you will be considered beautiful.
sorry if i sound harsh, but i really believe that's ridiculous.

Best laser for dark skin Yag, Ipl or other?
Want to get laser hair removal and have caramel to brown skin...what laser is best for my skin color. The hair is course and black
Best laser for dark skin Yag, Ipl or other?
Plucking (tweezing), Shaving, Depilatory creams and Waxing are temporary hair removal methods.
Waxing usually lasts for 3 weeks, but it is painful.
Electrolysis and laser hair removal are "permanent" hair removal methods but are expensive and you have to find a trained professional, otherwise your skin could be damaged.

MY friend ?? skin lighteing.........?
my friend is trying to lighten her skin i tried her to stop but she wouldnt she would mix up anything and put it on her skinn to become light and it is ruining her skin DOES ANYONE HAVE NATURAL INGREDENTS THAT WORK AND THAT YOU HAVE TRIED she doesnt want to go to the doctor and take pills or cremes to make her lighter
MY friend ?? skin lighteing.........?
The BEST ever is HYLUNIA's skin lightening treatment, it is a cream, but all natural, no fragrance, dye, paraben free, and it is freakin awesome, it will not ruin her skin at all, I tried EVERYTHING and this is the only thing that works (besides maybe lasers?) and I can't live without it
MY friend ?? skin lighteing.........?
That's terrible. I know that lemon juice lightens the skin a little bit with some people but I think a good psychologist would be more useful in her case. Or she should start collecting pictures of beautiful people with her skincolor and look at them regularly to counter any negative media influence since that's probably where the problem comes from.
Reply:thats sad that she can't accept herself the way she is. i agree that she needs to stop trying to change herself and be the way she is. but if she insists there are loads of skin lighteners on ebay.
Reply:Lemon juice will make it a little lighter.

Spot on skin?
How do I get rid of a spot I have on my leg due to an injury. It was a little burn at a small but obvious area on my leg(below the knee) which has become a part of my skin but is black. Do you know of any skin care product I can use.
Spot on skin?
Dont fret yourself to death. There are skin-products out there.
Spot on skin?
Anything with Vitamin C and E- it will fade at 1% per day.
Reply:dermatologist would be able to help you
Reply:I think you need to seek a medical opinion on this. The "black" part doesn't seem normal and could mean you have some other problem there
Reply:try aloe from a real aloe plant.. break it open and keep on applying it to that area so many times a day..There also sweel things in the drug store that you can buy that will cover that and it's just like skin..

best way is the slice off the edges to remove the "spikes". the peel/slice only onside the other side leave the skin on. rub the "naked" side oonto your spot.
Also use neosporin and cocoa butter during the day when you are at work or school. Use the aloe an hour before shower time. You can wrap it if you would like because the aloe is sticky..
lesson to all treat all scrapes and burns asap.

I like the the skin advertisements that google is developing for YouTube. Facebook should look at contacting companies who are trying to build up branding such as banks to skin their pages.

good question! skin in that context means the facing that is used with a software component. for instance, the way internet explorer appears on your computer is a 'skin,' and many programs allow skin changes. thus, an advertising skin for facebook would just contain more or different means of advertising

Makeup tips for fair skin..?
I have fair skin and dark hair (not naturally dark). I can easily look like a clown if i have the slightest too much amount of makeup on. This is because of my fair skin. But it can easily go the other direction, i can easily be washed out with not ENough makeup on.
Does anyone have makeup tips for a girl with a rounder face and fair skin?
Makeup tips for fair skin..?
Sounds like me. Round Face. Fair skin. I use Covergirl liquid foundation to powder and use a little face powder over it. I use the FAIR color and get it as light as possible. Use very light covering make up. Anything heavy just looks plain yucky!
Covergirl may not work well for you....but try different make up brands until you find the one that works for you.
Physicians Formula and BareMinerals is another light make up brand that my sister uses. She has red hair and light skin.
Stay away from liquid foundations. They never worked for me.
Keep the makeup as natural as you can.... Having fair skin is IN...no matter what anyone says - so show off what you have!
Makeup tips for fair skin..?
Use earth tones that will kind of blend in. Don'tuse strong colors like brigt red o bright pink.Mellow colors.
Reply:Try to wear neutral colors, earth tones are nice for dark hair and fair skin. The lipstick should be light tones too. Peachy color for blush.
Reply:If your NATURAL color of hair is on the red side you probably have warm skin tones, so makeup on the orange side, peachy, apricotty, eye colors rust, green, brown, teal would be good. Lipstick, peaches, apricots, rusts, etc.
If your NATURAL hair color is on the ash side, no red highlights, then you have cool skin tones so your best colors are pinks, maroons, some reds, for eyes: blues, purples, charcoal, turquoise.
If you have dyed your hair a color that is incompatible with your skin tone you are going to look out of balance. You need to still use makeup for your normal hair color to look your best. A light touch though because of your fairness.
Reply:From my experience (auburn hair, freckled skin):
First, make sure you have a slammin' foundation (powder, liquid, whatever works best for your type)... that matches your skin color WELL. Prescriptives has always been a great brand to use for well matched skin tones.
Second, I have taken to using lipstick, yes lipstick, on my cheeks. I use a muted pink that closely matches my natural blush color... and rub it on the apples of my cheeks (and just a touch on my forehead and chin) before I apply my powder. It helps me look more like I have a natural glow (than two clown circles on my cheeks). In the summer, I'll lightly brush on some light bronzing powder to add a slight hint of 'tan' to my skin.
I only use really dark colored lipstick/eye-makup when I'm going out at night. During the day, the only dark thing I use is black mascara (because I have dark eyes, and it just looks better on me). I keep my eye-liner and shadow natural, sticking to browns and natural mauves/pinks that accent my skin tone (which is more warm than cool).
A tip on the bronzing powder?... I learned to lightly brush that type of powder, believe it or not, around my hairline. Add that to your cheekbones and it might tone down the roundness in your face. Overall, that type of application helps pop your cheeks, forehead and chin.
I hope that helps a little... at least it gives you something to experiment with...... good luck!

I would try the Apple Cheeks blush(rosy tint) or the Daydreamer blush(more neutral). Just enough color. You could even lightly contour with the Daydreamer blush or a Bronzer %26amp; then just put a tint of color like the Apple cheeks. Also for a hint of color for your lips I just found my new favorite gloss Maybelline's Shiny-licious in Chocolate Cherry. Looks dark but gives your lips the perfect blush, w/out being overdone. Hope this helps.:)
Reply:Ok.Try this. Its summer so avoid foundation and use a tinted moisturizer. It s lighter and works better. Now go for pale colors or else you risk looking gothic. Try a light beige base, and light brown at the upper lid.Even coral and light green works. Next thing put some blusher on.Try a rose one.Being fair doesnt mean u have to look pale. Next thing.Buy red lipgloss. Its lovely.Dont choose a bright red one but an orange red one. Keep me informed

Weight loss,Skin Hang.?
I wiehg 300 pounds at the moment, I am 6ft tall. I am rather proportionate. I mean im obviously obese but I dont really have too much breast or stomach hang, Although I do have more than I want haha. I was just wondering if anyone would know if I lost lets say 100 pounds how much skin hang or leftover skin I would have?
Weight loss,Skin Hang.?
I started at 400lbs in March 2007 and on June 30th I weighed 278lbs I have NO problem with skin Hang and I have lost a lb a day for 113 days!
when you support the body with good nutrition it will support the biggest organ of the body --- The skin. I continue to lose and hope to lose about 40 lbs by the summers end. I know I can do it with the system I'm using. That's 49 days It's been so simple I just follow the plan and it works. Now I exercise more and more as well and I love it.I will meet my optimum lightness before Dec! I'm turning 50 this summer and I DO NOT EXPECT ANY HANGING SKIN!

Weight loss,Skin Hang.?
if you lose the weight slower you will have less skin hang
Reply:If this is your first time weight loss..and you are going to be exercising as you do it.. and do it at a slow pace you should not have any excess skin at all...especially if you are young..
The ones that do are usually very obese and lose it more quickly .. without much exercise.. (yo yo dieters) the lose and gain and lose again are the most prone to this..as the elasticity in the skin has gone..
and age is a factor also.. also sometimes nothing will help this without surgery.. it just happens..
But I would say if you are 6ft tall and 300 lbs you are not that heavy really... and if you do it the right way with exercises you should be fine..
Good Luck....... :)

My Toes skin?
My toe has had an ingrown toenail for a while. But now there is a piece of dead skin or a bubble of dead skin? under the big toe that has the ingrown toenail. It smells bad, as if it is infected. Anyone know whats happening? Or what it is?
My Toes skin?
It could be a fungal infection, they can smell bad too. If it isn't red or inflamed then I doubt it's an infection. You do need to have that ingrown toenail taken out, it's trapping all kinds of bacteria that's difficult to clean out and it's also penetrating your skin, which could lead to an infection. Meanwhile try some Lamisil until you can get that toe seen to.

Reply:Psoriasis is an inflammatory skin condition. There are five types, each with unique signs and symptoms. Between 10% and 30% of people who develop psoriasis get a related form of arthritis called “psoriatic arthritis,” which causes inflammation of the joints.
Plaque psoriasis is the most common type of psoriasis. About 80% of people who develop psoriasis have plaque psoriasis, which appears as patches of raised, reddish skin covered by silvery-white scale. These patches, or plaques, frequently form on the elbows, knees, lower back,
and scalp. However, the plaques can occur anywhere on the body.
The other types are guttate psoriasis (small, red spots on the skin),
pustular psoriasis (white pustules surrounded by red skin), inverse psoriasis (smooth, red lesions form in skin folds), and erythrodermic psoriasis (widespread redness, severe itching, and pain).
Regardless of type, psoriasis usually causes discomfort. The skin often itches, and it may crack and bleed. In severe cases, the itching and discomfort may keep a person awake at night, and the pain can make everyday tasks difficult.
Psoriasis is a chronic, meaning lifelong, condition because there is currently no cure. People often experience flares and remissions throughout their life. Controlling the signs and symptoms typically requires lifelong therapy.
Treatment depends on the severity and type of psoriasis. Some psoriasis is so mild that the person is unaware of the condition. A few develop such severe psoriasis that lesions cover most of the body and hospitalization is required. These represent the extremes. Most cases of psoriasis fall somewhere in between.
Who Gets Psoriasis
More than 4.5 million adults in the United States have been diagnosed with psoriasis, and approximately 150,000 new cases are diagnosed each year. An estimated 20% have moderate to severe psoriasis.
Psoriasis occurs about equally in males and females. Recent studies show that there may be an ethnic link. It seems that psoriasis is most common in Caucasians and slightly less common in African Americans. Worldwide, psoriasis is most common in Scandinavia and other parts of northern Europe. It appears to be far less common among Asians and is rare in Native Americans.
There also is a genetic component associated with psoriasis. Approximately one-third of people who develop psoriasis have at least one family member with the condition.
Research shows that the signs and symptoms of psoriasis usually appear between 15 and 35 years of age. About 75% develop psoriasis before age 40. However, it is possible to develop psoriasis at any age. After age 40, a peak onset period occurs between 50 and 60 years of age.
About 1 in 10 people develop psoriasis during childhood, and psoriasis can begin in infancy. The earlier the psoriasis appears, the more likely it is to be widespread and recurrent.
Psoriatic arthritis develops in roughly one million people across the United States, and 5% to 10% experience some disability. Psoriatic arthritis usually first appears between 30 and 50 years of age — often months to years after skin lesions first occur. However, not everyone who develops psoriatic arthritis has psoriasis. About 30% of people who get psoriatic arthritis never develop the skin condition.
Causes
Psoriasis may be one of the oldest recorded skin conditions. It was probably first described around 35 AD. Some evidence indicates an even earlier date. Yet, until recently, little was known about psoriasis.
While scientists still do not fully know what causes psoriasis, research has significantly advanced our understanding. One important breakthrough began with the discovery that kidney-transplant recipients who had psoriasis experienced clearing when taking cyclosporine. Since cyclosporine is a potent immunosuppressive medication, this indicates that the immune system is involved.
Immune Mediated. Researchers now believe that psoriasis is an immune-mediated condition. This means the condition is caused by faulty signals in the body’s immune system. It is believed that psoriasis develops when the immune system tells the body to over-react and accelerate the growth of skin cells. Normally, skin cells mature and are shed from the skin’s surface every 28 to 30 days. When psoriasis develops, the skin cells mature in 3 to 6 days and move to the skin surface. Instead of being shed, the skin cells pile up, causing the visible lesions.
Genes. Researchers have identified genes that cause psoriasis. These genes determine how a person’s immune system reacts. These genes can cause psoriasis or another immune-mediated condition, such as rheumatoid arthritis or type 1 diabetes. The risk of developing psoriasis or another immune-mediated condition, especially diabetes or Crohn’s disease, increases when a close blood relative has psoriasis.
Family History. Some people who have a family history of psoriasis never develop this condition. Research indicates that a “trigger” is needed. Stress, skin injuries, a strep infection, certain medications, and sunburn are some of the known potential triggers. Medications that can trigger psoriasis are anti-malarial drugs, beta-blockers (medication used to treat high blood pressure and heart conditions), and lithium. Dermatologists have seen psoriasis suddenly appear after a person takes one of these medications, gets a strep infection, or experiences another trigger.
Psoriasis research continues to accelerate at a rapid pace and will continue to advance our knowledge of what causes psoriasis.
Quality of Life
All types of psoriasis, ranging from mild to severe, can affect a person’s quality of life. Living with this lifelong condition can be physically and emotionally challenging.
Itching, soreness, and cracked and bleeding skin are common. Nail psoriasis can be painful. Even the simple act of squeezing a tube of toothpaste can hurt. One woman described her psoriasis as feeling like “a bad sunburn that won’t go away.”
Several studies have shown that people often feel frustrated. In some cases, psoriasis limits activities and makes it difficult to perform job responsibilities. The National Psoriasis Foundation reports that 56 million work hours are lost each year by those who have psoriasis. Additionally, a survey conducted by the National Psoriasis Foundation in 2002 indicates that 26% of people living with moderate to severe psoriasis have been forced to change or discontinue their normal daily activities.
Studies also have shown that stress, anxiety, loneliness, and low self-esteem are part of daily life for people living with psoriasis. One study found that thoughts of suicide are three times higher for psoriatics than the general population.
Embarrassment is another common feeling. Imagine getting your hair cut and noticing that the stylist or barber is visibly uncomfortable. What if you extended your hand to someone and the person recoiled? How would you feel if you spent most of your life trying to hide your skin?
Treatment Advances Improve Outlook
With the emergence of several new therapies, including the biologic agents, more people are experiencing substantial improvements and reporting a greatly improved quality of life.
Reply:Psoriasis. No cure. Sun helps.
Reply:I have psoriasis. Unfortunately, there is no cure. The best thing I have found to help control it is this: take omega3/6 fish oil tablets, multivitamins, and get some sun. UV rays and the compounds in the fish oil, along with the extra vitamins in the diet seem to help me.
Please remember this -- not everything works for everybody. That is why there is no cure at present. What I have told you here is what works for me. I hope it helps your relative should you decide to try it. Also, check with your doctor. He may have a regimen that will help. Experimentation and personal research is how I came to find what helps me.

Reply:Some very good answers here. I am a psoriasis sufferer of many years, with many flare-ups and remissions. Got to a point six years ago I had to leave work and join the ranks of the disabled.
Unless I missed it, the root cause is due to a hyper-immune system. I am one of those who wind up in the hospital, my last visit being for a week this past January.
I had been injecting myself with Raptiva and was meeting with some success, but it finally lost its efficacy.
While in the hospital I was given an infusion of a drug called Remecaid. I believe this is a drug given to organ transplant patients to keep the immune system from rejecting the new organs. Had two more infusions within six weeks of leaving the hospital. $20,000 (yes, five digits) for each infusion.
I'm happy to report that the stuff is again in remission, though it never totally goes away. At this point I can at least fuction well enough to again enjoy life. I am currently on maintainance doseage of oral medication called Soriatane. My doseage costs $1,800 (no typo here, either) per month.
There are other medicines, both oral and those that require sub-cutaneous injection, which you can do at home, and those that require intramuscular injection that is given in the doctor's office.
It is a comfort to know that you are not the only one suffering with this stuff at any given moment. Good luck.

Reply:MANGOSTEEN.......contact me by email thru here and I'll lead you to information. Many doctors are now recognizing mangosteen juice and are using it to help counter the effects of Psoriasis, Eczema and many other health challenges. Before and after photos with testimonials available. All natural, fully patented and it tastes fantastic! Mangosteen juice is the fastest growing health supplement in history. Helps to rebuild the immune system on a cellular and molecular level, which is the basis for good health.
Good luck.

. First of all, make sure you use an acne facial system. Try clinqiue's acne system. They have the best products ever and they actully work. And the best part about them is there not that expensive at all. Plus there high quality products and a little goes a long way! www.clinqiue.com or www.macys.com If you have really sensative skin try using anything that contains aloe in it. the body shop has aloe cleansers and stuff. www.thebodyshop.com
. For a natural homemade facial scrub, try mixing a handful of oatmeal with water and gently scrubbing your face with it. This helps to remove the dead skin cells that build up on your face. It may sound a bit weird to put oatmeal on your face but it really works. And its a gentle alternative to some of the harsh proudtcs out there that can make your skin even worse.
. When you do get a pimple dab a bit of visine on it to make the redness go away. Visine is a eye soultion that is made to get the red out of bloodshot eyes. It is very cheap (about a dollar) and is sold almost at every drugstore you go to. It may sound weird putting a product for eyes on your face but it actully works to calm the infection and reness of your pimple.
. You may have heard the thing about putting toothpaste on your pimple. That is one of the oldest in the book. it does work but it tends to be a bit drying. You could use toothpaste. Make sure it is the pastey kind and not the gel, the paste works alot better. Also one with proxide works great to dry the oils out of it. Try crest baking soda and peroxide toothpaste sold at most durgstores. Or if you have very dry skin try a special cream made just for on the spot acne, its less drying than toothpaste. Try Mary kay's acne treatment gel. $ 7.00 at www.marykay.com It works wonders and in just 1 night your face is cleared up. And is so affordable!
. For an acne fighting mask, mix up one egg, honey, oatmeal and some acne gel in a bowl. Then spread on to a clean face and let sit for about 10 minutes to really let the mask do its job. Then wash it off with a warm never hot washcloth. Your skin will feel better already!
. What ever you do, do not use achocol on your face unless you have absolutley out of control acne. This is usually the cause of acne. It drys out your skin so bad that your skin producs more oil to moisterize itself becuase it is not getting to oil it needs from a moisterzer. Resulting in zits everywhere!
. I found that taking vitamen c vitamens work wonders for acne prone skin. Vitamen c is the top leader when it comes to bright and lifley skin without a pimple in sight. They sell them a most of drugstores and are very cheap.
. Always make sure you wash all your makeup off before going to sleep. When you sleep your skin regenerates itself and it can't complete that process with makeup on it.
. Eating healthier can improve the look of your skiin. Also, Drink lots of water. If your not a water person you could try buying a flavored drink mix like crystal lights and mix it in a water bottle. Water detoxiys and flushs all the toxins out of your skins system. Also anything with pomagrante in it will help clear up skin.
. to get rid of blackheads and white heads try using a scrub for blackheads. It gets rid of both.
If this isn't enough, try googling it.
I hope i helped you! Good luck! And remember, don't let something as small as a pimple ruin your day! =)
I really want better skin by Christmas?
I would go to a dermatoligist of possible. Or as the rents for a facial (they will do extractions and suggest products etc). If you have oily skin a homemade oatmeal mask may help (regular oatmeal no flavors and leave on skin for 5 min. wash off with cold water to tighten poors).
Reply:you could try taking 2 q-tips and popping your white heads if your that desperate.
OR to treat your skin-
take some hot hot water and a face towel or a cotton ball and press it over the desired area you want to treat. Leave it on until the water in the face towel/cotton ball doesnt feel really hot anymore. Then repeat as many times desired.
For your dry skin, you could try baby oil? it will put a bit more moisture in your face
ALSO
drink a LOT of water!!
this will help!
Reply:I know exactly how you feel, hun. It's okay, it gets better. I'm 14 and I had the same problem. i went to my doctor and got a perscription for this face wash. It helped SO much!!! I had to clear up my skin cuz I'm a working model and yeah, the skin didn't help, but i'm all clear now! So go to your doctor and ask about it. Good luck!!!! :)
Reply:go to the doctor, this is the only way that you will see results
Reply:Get your mom to take you to a dermatologist. If you cant do that then I recommend a finding a good skin cleansing product. Clinque has a great line and you could go to their counter and get one of the ladies there to help you find the best one for you. I would also drink lots of water, lay off of chocolate and too many sweets. But the best thing for good skin is a good cleaning regimen ...you need to do in the morning and at night. Give this a try and I think you will start to feel better about your skin. And its a good habit to get in to doing....
I hope this helps ~~

Best inexpensive skin care??
What are the best, inexpensive skin care that you have used to help clear your skin?
Best inexpensive skin care??
Tea Tree Oil and Witch Hazel.
I used the combination from Boots. I went to England and I tried and it worked amazingly for my skin, but sadly I finished it but then...
Body Shop has a Tea Tree Oil line, and it is simply amazing. It works really great.
I have sensitive, dry, acne-prone skin and use to get flakes, dry patches, pimples all over the place, but now my face is much clearer.
OH, and Neutrogena is good. I use their moisturizer.
I use Tea Tree Oil Foaming Facial Wash, then I either follow by the cloths [cleaser + toner], then by Neutrogena Healthy Skin Orignal SPF 15 moisturizer [it's a anti-aging thing - I'm 15 but its never too early to start].
Best inexpensive skin care??
St. Ives works great and it's only about $3.00 and you can get it anywhere like at Wal-Mart.

Proavtive definitely doesn't work. It just dries out the skin.
I have used Differin, and it really did make a difference. It has a night gel that works like magic. It's not cheap, though. I got it through my medical insurance at Kaiser. My doctor highly recommended it for me.
Reply:cetaphil, they are the same makers of differin gel which is a prescription only product.
Reply:Proactiv worked really really well for me. But I guess that can be kind of expensive. Try neutregena. It works really well also.
Reply:masks made of: cucumber slices, egg yolks and whites, etc.

Reply:While getting a facial, the esthetician recommended Neutrogena Oil Free Daily Acne Wash. I have been using it for about a year now and I have seen good results. You can buy it at a drug store, Target or Wal Mart, etc.
Reply:Drinking Hot Filtered Water after it's been also boiled - so double cleansing and hot
Reply:My derm told me to use Cetaphil and it works!
I also use Biore Blemish Cleanser and I love it.

Does light-skin wives equal success?
How come when lots of black male celebrities get famous, they automatically go for white, Asian, or biracial women? Wesley Snipes, Ice T, Charles Barkley, Dave Chappelle, Kobe Bryant, Taye Diggs....I mean....I'm not against interracial marriages...I think it's good that they can get pass skin-clolor....or can they? It just seems that we as black men have a certain belief of light-skinned as "success." Any takers?
Does light-skin wives equal success?
It's sad that so many black men still buy into that myth. But celebrities are shallow to begin with.
Does light-skin wives equal success?
i can see your point, really i can. i think with their success they have a broader range of women to choose from %26amp; they choose whom they are most physically attracted to as well as one that compliments their lifestyle.
